Project abandoned
(12/07/04)The godsend project had some major problems (tricky setup, relied on database, slowness,
crappy UI) that could not be overcome without a complete rewrite. So that's what I did, except
I rewrote it entirely in Python, with no dependencies other than python. I also wrote a gui for it
in PyQt which i think is pretty slick. This is very nearly complete, but there are still things to
do. I also have not created a text-based ui for the program yet. However this should be a piece of
cake since, because of the rewrite, all the tricky stuff is now wrapped neatly into a single module.
Anyway, looking back on the new code, it does not resemble godsend much at all. Note that the syntax
for commands is the same, but the code itself is way better. So I gave it a new name, Puny. The GUI
is called QPuny and once I have a textbased interface i'll probably call it puny-shell or something.
Anyway all this is just to say don't count on godsend being updated, ever. But look forward to seeing
puny appear very soon on sourceforge!
If you're really really looking for godsend you may still download it from the sourceforge page
Best wishes!
